Secret in the Wings - SM

The final show I was blessed to work on with Baylor University Theatre as a student Stage Manager was Mary Zimmerman's The Secret in the Wings. While this show does have a written out script, our method of storytelling was very heavily devised. Secret in the Wings taught me so much about the wonders of collaboration. Due to our devising process, I, as the Stage Manager, had to very clearly and constantly communicate with the Production Team what changes were being made in rehearsal and what new ideas we were exploring. My responsibilities for this show included sending daily calls and rehearsal/performance reports, scheduling fittings for the cast, working with my ASMs on costume tracking, taking and sending line notes for the cast, attending meetings with the production team - individually and as a group - and taking notes in those meetings, and calling the show for the duration of the run.
